Technical operations

Medichem has two production sites, the first one located in Celrà (Girona) in the northeast of Spain. The second one is a brand new facility located in Malta, in full operation since November 2005. Both sites are designed for the development and production of APIs and intermediates, with full adherence to the Good Manufacturing Practices. Medichem is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified, and affiliated to the Responsible Care Programme.

Medichem production capabilities offer a wide range of possibilities to meet our customers’ demands. Our plant in Spain offers a reaction capacity of over 150 m3 which can be easily doubled to meet new requirements, the potential reaction capacity of our plant in Malta is of 30 m³.

Both plants have the necessary reaction and filtration equipment, for performing a wide range of reactions and for working in almost every process conditions, including Kilo lab and Pilot Plant facilities, enabling us to manufacture batches ranging from the very small gram quantities all the way through to multi-ton quantities.

Our finishing areas are equipped with HVAC, air filtration, differential pressures, air-locks, etc. In these plants we have the necessary equipment to dry the product and to obtain a wide range of particle size distribution: dryers, mills, shifters, micronizers, blenders, etc.
